CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

THESE CLASSES ARE VERY THOROUGH AND VERY CHALLENGING. IT MAY TAKE  SEVERAL YEARS TO ADVANCE IN THE LEVELS.

 

Tumble Tots with Parents-  35 minute class, ages 2,3.  Great  starter gymnastics class.  Instructor led, parent  can also  help  child. Promotion to Tumble Gems is on listening ability and not skill!

 

Tumble Gems-  (Parent not in room with child) 35minute class, ages 3,4,5.  Creative movement,   introduction  to tumbling and equipment.  Need forward and backward roll plus cartwheel and good listening skills and be age 5  to be promoted to Tumble Stars prior to age 6.

 

Tumble Stars-  50 minute  class, ages 6  up or promoted.  Tumbling,   fitness, and  equipment.  No previous experience required .Skills needed to pass to Step Up: making good progress on the Tumble Twister skills , good listening ability and good work  habits  .  Skills needed to pass to Tumble Twisters: back extension roll, back pullover on bars,  back handspring  ;  also need good listening ability and good work habits.

 

Tumble Stars Step Up One hour   plus 5 minutes,   by assignment only for students making good progress on the move up to Twisters skills (See Tumble Stars ) Some students will be able to skip Step Up.

 

Cheer Class- 

50 minute class. This is a Beginner-Intermediate-  tumbling  class  

for the ages 11 –18.   Basic tumbling,  ,jumps,  and fitness.  No previous experience required. DO NOT have to be cheerleaders for any cheer class!

 

Tumble Twisters- By assignment only. 1  hour 20 minute  class for the intermediate/advanced students.  Back extension roll, back pullover on bars, plus back handspring   required.

Good listening skills and good work habits required! Very good class for students interested in team at Mid-Ill.

COMPETITIVE TEAM CLASSE AVAILABLES-ASK FOR DIFFERENT INFORMATION!!

COMPETITIVE XCEL  5 LEVELS (NON USAG SANCTIONED) NEW PROGRAM  DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS WHO REALLY  LIKE GYMNASTICS AND WANT TO TRY COMPETITION WITH MUCH LESS  TIME AND MONEY COMMITMENT AND LESS DIFFICULTY (BASIC  SKILLS DONE WELL) PROBABLY 4 MEETS    PARENTS CLUB REQUIREMENT WITH FUNDRAISING  ½ OF USAG TEAM IF ONLY IN ONE CLASS/WEEK   MAY  MOVE  TO APPROPRIATE USAG TEAM LATER IF DESIRED

 

COMPETITIVE TEAM USAG  LEVEL 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, COMPULSORY ( Sanctioned and non sanctioned depending on skill) GIRLS ONLY  .TUMBLETEAM TRAINING  INCLUDED AND ENCOURAGED

 

COMPETITIVE TEAM  USAG  LEVEL 6-10  USAG OPTIONALS. GIRLS ONLY.(Sanctioned and non sanctioned depending on skill)  TUMBLETEAM TRAINING INCLUDED AND  ENCOURAGED

 

COMPETITIVE TUMBLETEAM FOR GIRLS  SKILLS  AND ROUTINES ARE TAUGHT IN REGULAR TEAM CLASSES MAY ADD A CLASS               BOYS WITH PERMISSION MAY DO TUMBLETEAM ONLY

 

ALL COMPETITIVE CLASSES  ARE BY ASSIGNMENT ONLY AND REQUIRE READINESS FOR OR

 SERIES BACKHANDSPRINGS AS WELL AS REASONABLE PROFICIENCY(  FOR GIRLS) IN  ALL AROUND  SKILLS (VAULT,BEAM, BARS, FLOOR X.) PLEASE ASK FOR TEAM SCHEDULES AND POLICIES. ONE PARENT MUST BE AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE MID-JET PARENT BOOSTER CLUB AND PARTICIPATE IN ALL ASSIGNED FUND RAISING AND MEET FEE PAYMENT PLANS WITH PERSONAL ACCOUNTS.

Annual Registration FeeAn ANNUAL(every 12 mos)  mandatory  non-refundable registration fee of $45 is due upon joining Mid-Illinois Gymnastics and Dance, Inc. The fee for any additional child from the same family is $35 .  It is a requirement of the USA Gymnastics Member Program that we  have a signed enrollment form.  Our participation in their programs helps bring our students a quality and safety oriented curriculum.  THE REGISTRATION FEE IS DUE YEARLY IN THE MONTH THE STUDENT JOINED THE PROGRAM..  A current Mid-Illinois registration is necessary for a student to attend Open Gym/ MIGD students receive a  birthday party discount.
